Ghana striker Abdul Majeed Waris is ready to prove his fitness level after making quicker than expected return from injury.

The 22-year-old returned to training with his teammates on Friday after a thigh injury sidelined him for some few days.

Waris picked up the problem during last Monday’s final pre-World Cup warm-up against South Korea in Miami.

But he must pass the fitness test to ensure he is considered for selection in their opener against USA on Monday in Natal.

“I am really delighted to be back today and I hope I can contribute positively to the team when the times come,” he told GHANASoccernet.com.

“I feel good and I will hope to continue working hard to aid the team.”

Waris scored nine goals in 16 Ligue 1 appearances for Valenciennes on a six-month loan from Russian side Spartak Moscow the just ended season.
