Michael Essien has returned to training with AC Milan which has delighted his coach

AC Milan boss Clarence Seedorf has hailed his midfielder Michael Essien's return from injury insisting the Ghana international gives him lots of options.

Essien returned from a two-week injury-induced absence on Monday just four days before they play Roma.

The former Chelsea midfielder was even on target for the AC Milan during their 4-0 win over lower division side Vergiatese.

Seedorf says Essien's return to vital to their ambitions of finishing well in the difficult season for the Italian giants.

"He is back training again which is good news because Michael gives us options in midfield with Montovoli and Nigel."

Essien could be in line for this Friday’s big clash against AS Roma.

His return is good news for Ghana with the World Cup scheduled to be played in Brazil in June.
