Ex-Ghana international Augustine Arhinful says Black Stars coach Kwesi Appiah should not be bothered by the lack first time action for his World Cup-bound players.

He believes those fringe foreign-based players will come good when the tournament kick-starts this June in Brazil.

First choice goalkeeper Fatau Dauda has struggled to get a look in at South African side Orlando pirates.

Udinese’s Emmanuel Agyemang-Badu, AC Milan duo Micheal Essien and Sulley Muntari have had irregular playing times.

Defender Jonathan Mensah is down the pecking order at French side Evian TG since returning from a card related suspension in February.

"Every player of course desires to playing week in and week out. That’s what makes the job fun," Arhinful told GHANASoccernet.com

"There are times that you don't get playing time at club level but once you are given a call up at national level you want to send a statement to your coach that you don't deserve to be on the bench.

"I will give you an example Arbeloa hardly gets a look in at Real Madrid but if fit, his national team coach prefers him to the others who play week in week out.

"We at this point need to play our individual roles and believe in the team the coach will name that is the spirit of Ghanaian and that is what has brought us this fair in football."

Ghana will announce a provisional 30-man squad for the tournament on 12 May.

The Black Stars will take on U.S in Natal on 16 June before taking on Germany and Portugal.
