Al Ain talisman Asamoah Gyan has credited his teammates for his impressive scoring form in the Asian Champions League.

Gyan scored a double on Tuesday in the 2-1 win over neighbours Al Jazira to reach the quarterfinal of the competition 4-2 on aggregate.

The Ghana captain now leads the scorers chart with ten goals in eight matches and he has thanked everybody at Al Ain for making him clinical.

“Personally, I’m very happy. I’ve scored 10 goals so far. It was a team effort. We qualified for the quarter-finals of the AFC Champions League. The players, coach, staff and the fans, everybody has supported me,” said Gyan.

“Honestly, I’m really happy to score 10 goals and still be the top scorer in the Champions League. It is a great achievement. It was really important to score those goals at the right time. I was at the right place at the right time. Thanks to my colleagues that I’m able to do what I’m doing now. It is a great feeling,” added Gyan.

Gyan has now set sights on winning the UAE President’s Cup against Al Ahli on Sunday.
