The Ghana FA expects the payment of appearance fees to all the Black Stars players for their participation at the 2014 World Cup over this weekend.

Rumours are rife of a mutiny on the part of the players following the delayed payment of their appearance fees.

Some are even attributing Ghana’s opening World Cup defeat to the USA to the non-payment of the appearance fees.

Each Black Stars player is to be paid $75,000 for making it into the final 23-man squad for the finals being staged in Brazil.

The Sports Ministry and Ghana FA have however explained that challenges faced with the transfer of the hefty cash from Accra to Maceio is the reason for the delayed payment.

The Ghana FA now say they expect the payment to be made over the weekend.

“The monies from Accra have not arrived yet but there are arrangements to have this sorted out soon,” GFA spokesman Ibrahim Sannie Daara disclosed.

“But the concentration [of the players] now is not on the money but rather on the game against Germany.

“We expect the money in by the weekend.”
