2014 World Cup: Black Stars to receive Presidential blessing ahead of World Cup training tour

The Black Stars will pay a courtesy call on President John Mahama before embarking on their training tour for the 2014 World Cup, Ghana FA boss Kwesi Nyantakyi has confirmed.

The team will begin its preparations in a non-residential camp on May 20 in Accra.

Coach Kwesi Appiah’s team will engage a local select side in a farewell match on May 23 and will travel to Rotterdam a day after to commence residential camping.

The team will however before exciting Ghanaian fans in the farewell game, will visit President Mahama to seek his blessings and advice ahead of the World Cup in Brazil.

“The team will pay a courtesy call on the President before we leave Ghana to the Netherlands,” GFA boss Kwesi Nyantakyi disclosed during the announcement of the World Cup squad.

A dinner will be organized for the Black Stars team after the game.

Ghana will be making a third appearance at the finals in June’s tournament in Brazil.

The Black Stars hope to reach at least the semi finals of the competition.
