Maxwell Konadu says the Black Stars technical team was most impressed by the performance of hat-trick hero Christian Atsu in the 6-1 demolition of a locally select side in an exhibition match played on Friday.

The Chelsea player who spent last season on loan at Vitesse scored three times to help hand the Black Stars a befitting send off as they embark on yet another World Cup campaign.

The Ghana World Cup squad took full advantage of a timid locally assembled team ‘Dream Team’ who were afraid to make tackles to avoid any injuries in the game played at the Accra Sports Stadium.

And even though Jordan Ayew, Albert Adomah and Sulley Muntari got themselves on the scoresheet, the team’s technical handlers were most impressed by the overall individual effort of winger Christian Atsu.

“We were all excited when we saw a player score a hat trick,” Black Stars assistant coach Maxwell Konadu said after the game.

“I think that was the highest point because in football, the supporters always want to see goals.

“And we saw a lot of goals today which was good for the game and the fans as well.”

The Black Stars will now depart for their week-long training camp in Rotterdam on Saturday evening.

The team will be joined by Michael Essien and Kevin-Prince Boateng who secured permission to absent themselves from the early preparations in Accra.
