Ghana defender Daniel Opare expects to be named in the initial 30-man squad ahead of the World Cup.

The 23-year-old has been impressive for Belgian outfit Standard Liège and more than a likely candidate to be named in the provisional squad.

Black Stars coach Kwesi Appiah is expected to release his squad next week and the former Ghana Under-20 star expects to be in there and ready to play any role assigned him.

“I am a regular player for my club and all the supporters, coaches and management always expect to see me on the pitch every day, Opare is quoted by TV3.

“As a country, it is very big and there are obviously a lot of quality players and I was very happy to be part of the team which qualified Ghana for the world cup.

“If anything happens and I am not a part of it, it wouldn’t be a problem. I believe in myself and I know exactly what I can do”.

Opare was heavily involved during the qualifying campaign and a sure bet to make the final 23-man squad to Brazil.
