Ex-Ghana CK Akunnor says he expects more from Jordan Ayew after the young striker bagged his first international hat trick in the 4-0 thrashing of South Korea in a pre-World Cup friendly.

Ayew came on for injured Majeed Waris on the 6th minute and put in an impressive to justify why he made the final 23-man roster for the tournament.

The 22-year-old, who spent the second half of last season on loan at relegated Sochaux from Olympique Marseille, has made a strong case to start in Ghana’s Group G opener against USA next Monday.

Akunnor believes the son of Ghana legend Abedi Pele has the credentials to make a huge impact in Brazil.

“I am not surprised at all what Jordan has done against the South Korean,” Akunnor told GHANASoccernet.com

“His talent is very clear and I think it is just beginning to show, he has played very well in the last two games that I have seen him play for the Black Stars and it is just beginning to pay.

“He will give us more in time, he will only get better so let’s all keep our fingers crossed.”
