Ghana midfielder Afriyie Acquah capped his successful loan spell at Parma with a UEFA Europa League spot after beating Livorno 2-0 on the final day of the campaign in Serie A.

Acquah played the entire duration as Amauri bagged a brace to ensure they moved up a spot to claim the final European qualification.

However, Parma would have been denied a Europa League place had Torino's Alessio Cerci not failed to convert an injury-time penalty as his side were held to a 2-2 draw by Fiorentina.

Acquah made 27 Serie A appearances and scored one goal to end his spell from German side TSG Hoffenheim.

It is uncertain if he will remain at the club to play in Europe's second-tier competition.

He has been named in Ghana’s provisional World Cup squad which begins preparations on Tuesday in Accra.
