Ghana will play Germany at the 2014 World Cup in Brazil

coach Joachim Loew has heaped praise on Ghana trainer Kwesi Appiah for steering the Black Stars in the right direction by injecting youth into the squad, ensuring World Cup qualification.

The Germany coach says under Appiah there is confidence that the Black Stars will excel at the World Cup in June because of the way the former international has transformed the team.

Lowe hailed Appiah despite the fact that the two countries will clash in the Group of Death, underlining the fact that the Ghana coach must be hailed for the team's recent successes.

Appiah took over the squad at the time that key players Stephen Appiah and Richard Kingson were not playing while injuries to other players like Michael Essien, John Mensah and the absence of Kevin-Prince Boateng robbed the squad of its strength.

However the Black Stars boss introduced youngsters like Majeed Waris, Christian Atsu, Albert Adomah, Mubarak Wakaso who helped Ghana to sealed World Cup qualification and Loew says they can cause a surprise at the World Cup

“We all know the quality of the Ghana national team now which should tell us all that the coach deserves some real credit for the wonderful achievement especially qualifying to the World Cup," Loew told the German television station DW.

“He was also bold enough to introduce many young guys into the team who have all lived up to the billing so based on all of these I think Kwesi Appiah deserves credit and praise from all who are involved in football.

“There is enough quality and experience in his team and he has proven that he can get the best out of them which gives the people of Ghana confidence that Ghana will surprise the world in Brazil."
