The Black Stars put up a gallant display against European giants Germany in a 2-2 stalemate and left with faint hopes of qualification.

Andre Ayew restored parity for Ghana with a powerful header before Asamoah Gyan handed Ghana a 2-1 lead with a powerful half-volley but the Germans equalised 19 minutes from time.

GHANAsoccernet.com’s Akyereko Frimpong Manson rates the performance of Kwesi Appiah’s men.

Fatau Dauda (GOALKEEPER) 7/10

The Orlando Pirates man took the gloves from Adam Kwarasey who manned the post in the first game and overly impressed against the Germans. Showed quick and instant reaction to deny Muller in the first-half.

Harrison Afful (RIGHT-BACK) 8/10

Struggled to keep the slippery Ozil under control as the Arsenal went free on most occasions. But as the tie wore on, the pocket-size full-back showed a lot of class with his defending and surging runs. His cross found Andre Ayew which he headed home magically.

Kwadwo Asamoah (LEFT-BACK) 8/10

What a night the Juventus man had. Kwesi Appiah's decision to play him at that role drew criticism from various quarters but on the night the versatile man showed enough quality and strong performance.

Jonathan Mensah (CENTER-BACK) 8/10

Courageously gallant in defence. Blocks Toni Kroos's goal-bound effort at goal. The Evian TG man was solid enough at the back to keep Thomas Muller and his company at bay. Was one of Ghana's best performers on the night.

John Boye (CENTER-BACK) 8/10

Took bulk of the criticisms after the first game but if there is anyway to return more solidly and impressive then the Stade Rennes man had it right. Timely and apt with his tackle. Kept Muller under close marking at least for the best parts of the first half. Read the German attack very well.

Rabiu Mohammed (MIDFIELD) 7.5/10

Tried his to gag the space in the middle and fared well against experienced Sami Khedira and Toni Kroos which shows that Rabiu is ready for the big stage.

Christian Atsu (FORWARD) 8.5/10

Menacing on the right flanks. Provided a sweet low cross for Gyan but the Ghana captain hit his effort just wide. Called Manuel Neuer to duty with a fierce drive. Exciting night. Cut the Germans open with glee.

Sulley Muntari (MIDFIELD) 8.5/10

Wonderful defense-splitting crosses and passes. His long perfect pass found Gyan and the captain buried his effort neatly to give Ghana a 2-1 lead. Ghana's best man on the field.

Kevin-Prince Boateng (FORWARD) 5.5/10

Refused to be disrupted by German boos as he kept his calm and composure but he failed to warm himself into the game and was taken off just 6 minutes into the second-half. Replaced by Jordan Ayew.

Asamoah Gyan (FORWARD) 7.5/10

Inspirational and skilful. Scored Ghana's second goal with a fine half-volley which beat Neuer. His brilliant trickery on Höwedes wowed the entire the entire stadium. Legend!!!

Andre Ayew (FORWARD) 7.5/10

The link up with Kevin-Prince Boateng failed to work and the supplies didn't get much to him. But the son of the African football legend warmed himself into the game and scored the equaliser with a powerful glancing header.

SUBSTITUTES

Jordan Ayew (FORWARD) 5.5/10

Wakaso Mubarak (MIDFIELD) 6/10

Emmanuel Agyemang-Badu (MIDFIELD) 6/10
