Ex-Kotoko coach Telat Uzum insists Ghana have the ‘quality to go all the way’ at this summer’s World Cup.

The Africans head to Brazil with the weight of expectations of both the supporters and the media very high.

Despite witch doctors from both Ghana and Portugal dominating the headlines recently for their various predictions, that has not dampened enthusiasm within the camp, and the Black Stars seem to be reveling in the fact that they are underdogs.

The Turkish trainer speaks positively about the emergence of new talents within Kwesi Appiah’s 23-man party and he’s bullish about their prospect in the South American country.

“I have no doubt in my mind that Ghana can go all the way to the finals,” he told GHANAsoccernet.com

“They have experienced and quality players who have played at this level before. In any case in football, there is also the opportunity for others to showcase their talents.

“Michael Essien, Asamoah Gyan and Sulley Muntari in particular should carry the team on their shoulders.

“They have the experience and quality to motivate the younger ones in the group.

“I stay in Germany and have followed the team for a very long time. Ghana has what it takes to do well against them as well as Portugal.

“It’s all about self-belief and the ability to put themselves together to surprise the world. They can do it if they put their mind to it.

“This is the biggest stage of football and anything can happen.”

The Black Stars will play against old foes USA and Germany as well as Portugal in group G.
