Black Stars captain Asamoah Gyan perpetuated his impressive scoring run for Al Ain by scoring a double in their 5-0 demolition of Qatari side Lakhwiya in the Asian Champions League on Tuesday evening.

The 28-year-old was rakish upfront as he scored twice and provided assist for two other goals at the Abdullah bin Nasser bin Khalifa Stadium in Doha.

Gyan's impressive scoring run has seen him notch five goals in his last two games for Al Ain.

Despite enjoying an inconsistent campaign in domestic season, Al Ain are high-flying in the continental competition and on Tuesday night it was the performance of the former Sunderland hit-man who propelled them to victory over a below par Qatari side.

Gyan has assisted Diaky and Brosque for the first two goal in the 25th and 43rd minutes respectively before registering his name on the score-sheet.

In the 69th minute when the time arrived for the lethal forward to score his first goal, he did that in style; pestering two defenders with dazzling skills inside the box before rattling the back of the net with a firm shot.

Saed Mohanad added the fourth before Gyan completed the riot with a 90th minute finish.
