2014 World Cup: Ghana coach refuses to shut door on SACKED duo Kevin-Prince Boateng and Sulley Muntari
Ghana coach Kwesi Appiah says the international careers of Sulley Muntari and Kevin-Prince Boateng are far from over despite being sacked from camp at the 2014 World Cup.
The duo were kicked out from the Brasilia Palace Hotel on Thursday morning; hours before their 2-1 defeat to Portugal in Group G.
Muntari has been handed an indefinite suspension for unprovoked physical attack on an executive committee member.
Boateng, the Schalke 04 ace, was thrown out of dismissed from the camp for using “vulgar verbal insults” towards head coach Kwesi Appiah.
There are suggestions the pair might have played their last international matches but Appiah says they could be called up for the 2015 Africa Cup of Nations this year.
“The letter issued to them was suspension, so it depends,” he told reporters at a post-match press conference.
“If they perform well they could be invited back to the national team.”
