Ghana defender Harisson Afful scored to help Esperance qualify to the group stage of the CAF Champions League with a 3-0 win over Real Bamako on Sunday.

The Red and Gold only needed to avoid defeat in the return leg of the tie after securing a 1-1 draw in last weekend’s opening encounter against the Malian club.

But the Tunisian giants will not relent on their efforts as they showed the superiority before their expectant home fans in Tunis.

Oussama Darragi started the annihilation with a 33rd minute strike with Youssef Msakni doubling the lead just eight minutes into the restart.

Ghana defender Harrison Afful then scored six minutes to full time to complete the thrashing and another memorable Champions League match for the Tunisian giants.

The Black Stars full back will however not be able to play in his side’s opening group fixture having been booked for the second time in this fixture.

Afful's return to scoring form will excite many with just a few months to the start of the 2014 World Cup.

The 27-year-old looks set to play in his first World Cup finals this summer in Brazil having featured prominently throughout Ghana's successful qualifying campaign.
