Ghana defender Rashid Sumaila is set to win his first major title at Mamelodi Sundowns tonight.
The Brazilians will be confirmed champions of the South African Premier Soccer League with a win over SuperSport United on Tuesday night.
Pitso Mosimaneââ¬â¢s side are set to clinch their first title in seven years as a reward for their consistent display this term â⬓ especially in the second half of the season.
Sundowns are unbeaten in nine league matches and are overwhelming favourites to secure the home win over SuperSport to install them as the new champions with a game to spare.
The Pretoria-based club have a healthy four-point lead at the top of the South African top flight over closest contenders and defending champions Kaizer Chiefs.
The domestic league triumph will represent the first major piece of silverware for Ghana defender Rashid Sumaila who only joined the side at the beginning of the season.
The 21-year-old who arrived from Ghanaian giants Asante Kotoko has managed to establish himself as a regular first team player â⬓ making 22 appearances out of the 28 league games played so far.
He is likely to feature in Tuesdayââ¬â¢s match with the great expectation of clinching his first title with Sundowns.
