Ghana attacker David Accam scored a double for Helsingborg IF and lifted them to an impressive 3-1 victory over bottom-placed Mjällby in the Swedish Allsvenskan on Sunday afternoon.

Accam found the net within four minutes (57th and 61st) minutes after a pulsating first-half which ended at the Olympia without a goal.

The former Right to Dream Academy graduate has take his season's tally to an impressive 9 goals in 11 games (all competitions) but Sunday's brace has taken his league tally to 4 in 6 games and his second brace of the season.

Helsingborg are uncharacteristically are lying below a mid-table spot and they needed inject seriousness into their game but a shady first 45 minutes was uninspiring with struggling Mjällby frustrating them to a scoreless draw.

But after the returned from the break, Accam too matters into his hands and scored twice to give his side a firm lead before he was eventually taken off in the 88th minute.

While Accam was busily murdering Mjällby, former Heart of Lions midfielder Kwame Bonsu was in action for Mjällby but could not make any meaningful alteration to his side's fate in the game.

Midfielder Ema Boateng missed the game with a back problem.
