Adam Larsen Kwarasey is expecting a baby with his girlfriend Marin.

Adam Larsen Kwarasey and his girlfriend Malin are expecting their first child in June which means the goalkeeper will miss the birth of his son because of the World Cup, GHANASoccernet.com can exclusively reveal.

Malin is seven months pregnant and is due to give birth on 4 June.

With the Black Stars starting their preparations for the tournament on 25 May in Accra, Kwarasey will not be present to witness the birth of his first child.

“We had the ultrasound on Monday and the baby looked very good. He was great, a few hundred grams of normal weight,” a proud Kwarasey said.

Kwarasey would not be around as he will be preparing for the 2014 FIFA World Cup finals with Ghana.

But his brother Rashid, who is currently in Accra training with Accra Hearts of Oak, is likely to return to Norway to be with Malin for the birth of his nephew.

The Black Stars will be in USA by then to fine-tune their preparations before flying to Brazil for the tournament.

The Stromsgodset captain is expected to be named in Kwesi Appiah’s final 23-man squad.
