Ghana legend Abedi Ayew Pele has expressed huge satisfaction with the players named by Kwesi Appiah in his provisional squad for the upcoming World Cup finals.

The three-time African Footballer of the Year believes the 26-man squad has the match-winning know-how and capable of going far in the tournament.

Appiah’s called up stars include his two sons Andre and Jordan who play with French sides Olympique Marseille and Sochaux.

Ghana’s provisional squad boasts of several youngsters- Mubarak Wakaso, Jeffrey Schlupp, Afriyie Acquah, David Accam, Abdul Majeed Waris, Jordan Ayew and Daniel Opare- but with requisite experience to play on the big stage.

“It’s a good team with several match winners in it,” Abedi Pele exclusively told Ghana’s leading football website GHANASoccernet.com from his base in Switzerland.

“There are so much expectations back home and the team will have to respond in a positive way.”

Ghana have been drawn in Group G alongside Germany, Portugal and the United States of America.
