Ghana midfielder Kevin-Prince Boateng says he wants coach Kwesi Appiah to make him the Black Stars play-maker at the World Cup allowing him to be the creative person behind the strikers.

Boateng, who plays for German side Schalke, has been used in several positions since making his decision to play for Ghana instead of his country of birth Germany.

He was played on the right win during the 2010 World Cup but has since been used as a striker in some matches since his return from the self-imposed international exile.

Boateng was named in the Ghana squad for the Brazil tournament as a striker but he says he wants to be made the Black Stars play-maker and think coach Appiah agrees.

"I hope (I play) behind the forwards," said Kevin-Prince Boateng who plays in a similar position for German side Schalke.

"I believe that's where the coach sees me. We have two strong defensive midfielders with [Michael] Essien and [Sulley] Muntari. I hope I can play on my favourite position where I can act freely."
