Sulley Muntari has been named in AC Milan squad to face Livorno

Ghana midfielder Sulley Muntari has boosted hopes of making the Black Stars squad for the World Cup in June as he has returned from injury for AC Milan.

The 29-year-old has been named in a 23-man squad for his team’s match against Livorno in the Italian top-flight league on Saturday.

This shows that he has recovered from the calf injury that kept him out of action for two weeks which made some Ghanaians anxious with the World Cup looming.

Muntari picked up an injury while in action for the Italian giants in their match against Chievo two weeks ago.

The former Inter Milan man is expected to be named in Ghana’s squad for the 2014 World Cup in Brazil.

Milan squad to face Livorno: Abbiati, Amelia, Gabriel, Abate, Bonera, Constant, De Sciglio, Mexes, Rami, Silvestre, Zaccardo, Zapata, Emanuelson, De Jong, Kaka, Montolivo, Muntari, Poli, Saponara, Taarabt, Balotelli, Pazzini, Robinho
