Though Ghana team doctors have yet to officially confirm the availability of striker Abdul Majeed Waris for the Black Stars' Group G opener against the United States but team-mate Wakaso Mubarak claims the forward will be fit by Monday.

In a post on Instagram, the Rubin Kazan' winger assures Ghanaian fans to keep faith because the striker will be fit and ready to face the United States on Monday.

Waris limped off during Ghana's 4-0 drubbing of South Korea in Monday's pre-World Cup warm-up friendly after just six minutes and he is regarded as a major doubt for the opener but Wakaso is sure he will return in time.

Ghana’s team doctor Baba Adamu says Majeed Waris will be monitored up until the eve of their opening group game against the USA when a definite decision will be taken over his participation at the 2014 World Cup.

Waris is regarded as one of the brightest spots in the Ghana team but following Jordan Ayew's swashbuckling display which saw him net a hat-trick against Korea, he could earn a start ahead of him.
