German-born Ghanaian coach Otto Addo is confident of a significant improvement of the Black Stars team in their second 2014 World Cup game against Germany on Saturday.

The Black Stars are in desperate need of points to resurrect their campaign in Brazil going into the weekend’s clash against the three-time winners in Fortaleza.

Ghana were handed a shocking 2-1 defeat by the United States in their opening Group G game last Monday in Natal.

The defeat puts the African giants in a very delicate situation where they desperately need points off Germany - who blew away Portugal in their opening group fixture – to reignite their bid in Brazil.

And Otto Addo who played out his entire professional football in Germany and now a member of the Black Stars’ backroom staff believes Ghana will come good against the European giants.

“They have a good team and there is no doubt about that but even against Portugal there were chances. It will be difficult but we will have our chances,” Addo said. “There are many weaknesses [in German team] but they are issues I will discuss with the coach and I hope we will find the right decisions and the players find the right decisions to win this game.

“There are a lot of things to be done better and probably defending is one of them.

“I know they can be done better than the players. I am 100 per cent sure they will do that against Germany.”

Ghana will continue with their preparations in their team base in Maceio until Friday when they travel to Fortaleza for the game on Saturday.
