Famous therapist Mariana Kovacevic was responsible for healing Wayne Rooney in time to play for Manchester United in their 3-1 defeat to Bayern Munich in the Champions League match played on Wednesday.
The Serbian therapist noted for her unique massages and treatment using a concoction which includes horse placenta is expected to join the Black Starsââ¬â¢ medical team for the 2014 World Cup.
Kovacevic was flown into Manchester over the weekend to attend to Wayne Rooney who was originally ruled out of Wednesdayââ¬â¢s Champions League clash in Munich.
The Serbian therapist managed to whip the England international into shape to surprisingly start the game for the Red Devils.
Rooney becomes the latest world football star to benefit from the magical treatment of Mariana Kovacevic who has also treated Robin Van Persie, Frank Lampard, Yossi Benayoun, Vincent Kompany, Pablo Zabaleta amongst others.
Kovacevic worked on Ghanaian players for the first time during the 2010 World Cup where she was part of the Black Starsââ¬â¢ backroom staff on the recommendations of then coach Milovan Rajevac.
She managed to work on players like John Mensah and Kevin-Prince Boateng to recover quickly from knocks sustained in intense matches during the tournament in South Africa.
She was engaged again by the Ghana FA two years later at the Africa Cup of Nations in Gabon and Equatorial Guinea where she worked under compatriot Goran Stevanovic.
She was able to return Asamoah Gyan to fitness for that tournament after he had been ruled out with a hamstring injury.
The renowned therapist could join the Black Starsââ¬â¢ backroom staff again as a member of the planned medical support staff for the 2014 World Cup in Brazil.
