The Ghana FA say they will not go out of their way to establish a case of a match of convenience in the final Group G game between Germany and the United States, ceding that responsibility to tournament organizers FIFA.

The Black Stars will only progress from the group once they beat Portugal comprehensively and hope USA fall to Germany in the final group match to be played on Thursday.

A draw in the Germany-USA game will however see both teams through while Ghana will be eliminated.

Rumours are rife that Germany will settle for a fixed game with the USA to see th two German coaches of the two espective teams progress at the 2014 World Cup.

This has alerted several interest groups, including Ghanaians to maintain a keen interest in that game to be played in Manaus despite the focus on the match against Portugal in Brasilia.

But the Ghana FA is adamant it will only focus on the match against Portugal – trusting FIFA to take care of any hints of a fixed match between Germany and the USA.

“We can only concentrate on ourselves and not be bothered by the game between Germany and the USA,” Ghana FA boss Kwesi Nyantakyi said.

“We believe FIFA is competent enough to detect anything untoward.

“I don't think USA will want to play a fixed match neither do I think Germany will want to play a fixed match.

“I believe FIFA is watching and all of us will be watching.”
