The Ghana FA say they will not go out of their way to establish a case of a match of convenience in the final Group G game between Germany and the United States, ceding that responsibility to tournament organizers FIFA.

The Black Stars will only progress from the group once they beat Portugal comprehensively and hope USA fall to Germany in the final group match to be played on Thursday.

A draw in the Germany-USA game will however see both teams through while Ghana will be eliminated.

Rumours are rife that Germany will settle for a fixed game with the USA to see th two German coaches of the two espective teams progress at the 2014 World Cup.

This has alerted several interest groups, including Ghanaians to maintain a keen interest in that game to be played in Manaus despite the focus on the match against Portugal in Brasilia.

But the Ghana FA is adamant it will only focus on the match against Portugal – trusting FIFA to take care of any hints of a fixed match between Germany and the USA.

“We can only concentrate on ourselves and not be bothered by the game between Germany and the USA,” Ghana FA boss Kwesi Nyantakyi said.

“We believe FIFA is competent enough to detect anything untoward.

“I don't think USA will want to play a fixed match neither do I think Germany will want to play a fixed match.

“I believe FIFA is watching and all of us will be watching.”

@Troy, what good move are you talking about? We are definitely out; we messed up our chance and now there is nothing we can do,these guys will surely compromise big time and nothing will happen. The writing s are on the wall, anyone who think we will still qualify can still hallucinate and live in his illusions. What do you take the Germans and the Americans for? WC goes beyond football and fair play, the is politics of international standard which Ghana come no closer. Just a call from Mr Obama is enough to spell our doom. Open your eyes bro

If Jordan Ayew had given that ball to Gyan to smash a third goal, then we would not be caring about what Germany and USA are going to do.

This will put pressure on Germany to win as they have a past record of drawing in 98 to kick an African side. These are mind games and could have impact on their game. Knowing if they draw it smears up some match of convenience between them. Let's keep praying for Germany to win even if they don't want to.
