Black Stars winger Andre Ayew signed off his French Ligue 1 season with a fabulous goal for Olympique Marseille as they pipped Guingamp narrowly at the Stade Velodrome on Saturday night.Â
The 24-year-old Manchester United target finished off aÂ Mathieu Valbuena splitting pass in the 52nd minute to claim the points for nine-time champions.
Marseille were hoping for victory and hope rivals Lyon drop points at OG Nice and when Andre Ayew struck early in the second-half to hand them the lead, they kept on firing and hope for good news at theÂ Allianz Riviera.
But Lyon enjoyed a memorable evening as they posted a narrow win over Nice to secure Europa League football as send off party forÂ RÃ©mi Garde who is ending his tenure as Lyon manager.
The Ghana international who has emerged as a transfer target for English duo Liverpool and Manchester United produced a brilliant strike to push his Marseille course but Lyon's victory ensured their dreams went up in the smokes.
The goal marks his 6th of the season.
