Black Stars winger Andre Ayew signed off his French Ligue 1 season with a fabulous goal for Olympique Marseille as they pipped Guingamp narrowly at the Stade Velodrome on Saturday night.

The 24-year-old Manchester United target finished off a Mathieu Valbuena splitting pass in the 52nd minute to claim the points for nine-time champions.

Marseille were hoping for victory and hope rivals Lyon drop points at OG Nice and when Andre Ayew struck early in the second-half to hand them the lead, they kept on firing and hope for good news at the Allianz Riviera.

But Lyon enjoyed a memorable evening as they posted a narrow win over Nice to secure Europa League football as send off party for Rémi Garde who is ending his tenure as Lyon manager.

The Ghana international who has emerged as a transfer target for English duo Liverpool and Manchester United produced a brilliant strike to push his Marseille course but Lyon's victory ensured their dreams went up in the smokes.

The goal marks his 6th of the season.
