Ghana winger Christian Atsu will be influential for Vitesse Arnhem in their quest to secure a Uefa Europa League ticket as the Eredivisie Europa Play-offs begin on Wednesday evening.Â
Vitesse start their campaign for a European return at the Euroborg as they take on an in-form Groningen side on the opening day of the Play-offs and the on-loan Chelsea winger is expected to play an influential role.
The last time Arnhem-based side secured European football after the end of the season was in the 2011/12 season and it had a Ghanaian flavour as Schalke 04 midfielder Anthony Annan played a crucial role in the success.
While Atsu will be keen on positive results on the evening, Dutch-born Ghanaian defender Johann Kappelhof is expected to man the defence for the hosts who have recorded six straight wins in their last six games in the Eredivisie.
