Ghana winger Christian Atsu has vowed to put an end to Portugal’s World Cup campaign when the two sides meet on Thursday in a crucial Group G decider.

The Black Stars will have to beat Portugal handsomely and hope that Germany beat the USA or Jurgen Klinsmann’s side win by a high margin.

Atsu knows much about Portuguese after spending three years in the country and played for FC Porto and Rio Ave.

The 22-year-old has been impressive so far and believes the Black Stars are determined to put Portugal to the sword.

“We have given it our all and I am very certain we will beat Portugal,” the Chelsea man said.

“The game won’t be easy since we all have a genuine chance but we are confident in ourselves and will win.

Atsu is also aware the Black Stars could be knocked out if they lose to Portugal in Brasilia.

“In football everything is possible but we believe we will go through, it’s unfortunate that we find ourselves in such a position and it’s the reality but we will sail through.”

Don't be so overconfident. We said the same about USA. Keep the chest-thumping down please.

Portugal Defense is bad. WE NEED TO PLAY 2 STRIKERS IN THIS GAME. WARRIS AND GYAN. And we need GOALS! Lets attack them right from the blow of the whistle and their defence will crumble like pastry. Do not go into the game with caution. That will give the portruguese a bit of confidence. LETS Hit them HARD with more men in their box looking for Goals right from the blow of the whistle. Portugal can crumble easily. A As Usual start Kevin! and only bring in Jordan when the need arises. Start Essien pairing with Rabiu because we need experience in the absence of Sulley. IF Akwasi Appiah tells the players to Go for it, the result will surprise the world. Defenders should be alert on aerial ball threats. Germany vs USA either Germany or USA will score a late goal.

Pito my bro. For scoring, there is no doubt we won't score Portugal but the issue now is what if the two leading teams rig their game & draw, won't our win over Portugal be meaningless.

If you think one of Germany or the US will win their game, that will be wishful thinking because, that match will end in a draw, and both will qualify for the next round. This is plain world cup history. Anyway Ghana should go ahead and whip Germany as much as 4-0 to show how good the team is.

Atsu please score goals when you are open, that is not being selfish, I know some of your team mates want you to pass the ball. It is OK to pass when it is the better option but if you are open and can score why pass? Keep your shots low and on the grass, that is your trade mark. Practice with the brazooka to be ready for Thursday. We need a lot of goals against portugal. Track back and cover a midfield player when we lose the ball but don't go too deep it is too hot and humid, you have to play smart.

Don't be too overconfident Anyway with the qualification we don't need too many goals if Germany should win. Even if germany beat USA 1 nil and we beat portugal 2 - 1 we will go through bcos with this , the goal difference will be 0 for each of the sides. But the next criterion will be number of goals scored. We would have scored 5 goals as against 4 goals. To be safe We have to focus on beating Portugal by goal difference of 2 if we hope dat USA loses. What if Germany should lose say 1 nil ? For that we will have to beat Portugal by 4 nil and edge out the Germans by the number of goals scored . Fixing or no fixing ours is to play our hearts out to win. I personally believe they will play it fair

I think they will play fair too.. it's going to be as competitive as any other match for two or more reasons.. 1 .Miroslav Klose is saying he is looking to break the world record of number of goals scored in world cup by scoring against USA 2 .Diplomatic relations between Germany and USA have become a bit blurry after the Germans found out Yankee has been tapping the german leaders personal cell phone.. 3. Joachim Lowe and Klinsmann will be looking to prove their better than each other... This will be business as usual and I don't see any reason why they will negotiate a draw. Why because even if they do negotiate a draw, an own goal can be scored or a penalty kick missed (which will supposed to draw the game) With that said, Ghana must score a very early goal against Portugal to keep Germany on their toes because if we manage to score 5 past Portugal, then Germany will be the one packing their bags if they allow yanks to beat them by even a goal to nil.. GHANA!!! It shall be WELL... I see us in Semis because this is the hardest part and God has already paved the way for us by placing beatable teams in our way in quarters and semis
