Isaac Vorsah's hopes of playing in the 2014 FIFA World Cup is hanging by a thread after failing to play in the last game of the season in Austria on Sunday.

This means the defender has not been in action for the entire season hurting his chances of being named in Ghana's squad on Monday.

The centre-back was hoping to play some matches before the season ends to prove his fitness to coach Kwesi Appiah after a one-year injury induced absence.

But he was not named in the Red Bull Salzburg set up which lost 2-0 at Wolfsberger AC which puts his fitness in doubt.

Salzburg head coach Roger Schmidt had earlier announced that the defender will be in top shape for the tournament.

Naming the towering defender in the squad will be risky for coach Appiah who names his provisional squad tomorrow Monday.

Vorsah tore an anterior cruciate ligament in his knee last May and scheduled to spent six months in the treatment but he could not win the fitness battle.

The 25-year-old played at the 2010 World Cup finals where Ghana reached the quarter-final stage.
