Ghana striker Jordan Ayew could stake a claim for a starting role ahead of the 2014 World Cup finals in Brazil following his peerless display against South Korea.

The 22-year-old was the star of the show as he bagged a memorable hat-trick in Ghana’s convincing 4-0 win over sloppy South Korea on Monday night.

The Marseille striker replaced injured Majeed Waris as early as the fourth minutes and did not take long to make an impact as he gave the Black Stars the lead seven minutes later.

He went ahead to score two more goals with the other coming from the foot of captain Asamoah Gyan.

Jordan has not been a regular performer for the side but could now stake a claim for a starting role after impressing heavily in Miami.

The confidence of the third son of Ghana legend Abedi Pele has soared ahead of his debut appearance at the global showpiece and could be the man star for the Africans.
