Ghana midfielder Kevin-Prince Boateng joined the Black Stars' training camp in Holland on Sunday morning as they opened their Europe leg of the training tournament ahead of the World Cup.

The Schalke player, who was absent during the Black Stars' first phase of preparations for the World Cup in Accra arrived at their Arnhem base Sunday morning.

The arrival of the influential midfielder is a massive boost for coach Kwesi Appiah as his players have responded positively to his training regiment for the tournament in Brazil.

"The Germany-based players will join the rest of the Ghana team in training in Holland after meeting up with the squad," a statement on the Ghana FA website read.

Boateng was excused by the technical team for the three-day training camp in Accra, which ended on Friday.

Black Stars coach Appiah has 23 players to train with as he expects Michael Essien, Adam Kwarasey and Sulley Muntari to join the team this week.
