2014 World Cup: Kevin-Prince Boateng joins Ghana's training camp in Holland

Published on: 25 May 2014
Kevin Prince Boateng has arrived in the Ghana camp in Holland

Ghana midfielder Kevin-Prince Boateng joined the Black Stars' training camp in Holland on Sunday morning as they opened their Europe leg of the training tournament ahead of the World Cup.

The Schalke player, who was absent during the Black Stars' first phase of preparations for the World Cup in Accra arrived at their Arnhem base Sunday morning.

The arrival of the influential midfielder is a massive boost for coach Kwesi Appiah as his players have responded positively to his training regiment for the tournament in Brazil.

"The Germany-based players will join the rest of the Ghana team in training in Holland after meeting up with the squad," a statement on the Ghana FA website read.

Boateng was excused by the technical team for the three-day training camp in Accra, which ended on Friday.

Black Stars coach Appiah has 23 players to train with as he expects Michael Essien, Adam Kwarasey and Sulley Muntari to join the team this week.

ADVICE FOR AA AFCON MULTIPLIED BY 3 IS WAT U WILL FACE IN BRASIL. SO U BETTER SIT UP N THINK OF STRATEGIES FOR EACH TEAM LIKE A CAT. MY ONLY ADVICE TO YOU IS THIS... DISCIPLINE AND DIGNITY IN EVERYTHING! 1.TRAIN THE GH PLAYERS TO MOVE WITHOUT THE BALL. THEY R SO LAZY THEY ENJOY STANDING, WATCHING N WAITING FOR BALL. THIS IS WHY GERMANY/OZIL BEAT GH 1 NIL BECOS THE GH DEFENCE WERE BALL WATCHING N OLELE WAS WATCHING THE GERMAN PLAYERS,INSTEAD OF THE BALL....LOL 2.WATCH BARCELONA FC. EACH TIME A BARCA PLAYER GETS THE BALL.U SEE 2 BARCA PLAYERS AROUND HIM IN A TRIANGLE SHAPE. AA, JUST WATCH N YOU WILL SEE THIS STYLE IN THEIR MIDS AND STRIKERS. BY ADOPTING THE TRIANGULAR STYLE. U CAN DEFEND, ATTACK N EVEN REPOSSESS THE BALL WHEN YOU LOSE IT. 3.THE PLAYERS MUST TRAIN AT DAWN/NITE TIME WITH LESS LIGHT. THEY MUST WORK ON FREEKICKS, SET PIECES, PENALTIES, CORNERKICKS, GETTING THE BALL INTO THE 18..... ETC.. IF THEY CAN CONVERT SUCH PLAYS IN THE DARK. THEIR SUCCESS RATE IN CONVERTING THESE IN THE DAYTIME WILL BE MUCH HIGHER 4.2/3 TOUCHES EACH. BREAK, CONTROL PASS ONLY THE #10 AND #8 ARE ALLOWED TO DRIBBLE THE BALL 5.GOALIES MUST WATCH THE DAMN BALL AT ALL TIMES. U ARE NOT CATCHING PLAYERS, BUT THE BALL. SO WATCH THE DAMN BALL! 6.Start ur subs over ur starters to get a more balanced, DEPTH, CONFIDENT team. AA MUST START ADAMS, NKUM, SCHLUPP, ACQUAH, ADOMAH, ACCAM,WAKASSO, JORDAN IN THE GAME VS THE DUTCH. THIS IS NO TIME TO BABYSIT. JUST THROW THEM IN THE FIRE BECOS THE WCUP WONT BE FAVORING ANYONE. against the dream team, wesaw how inefficient accam, wakasso and boye were. u see, i wasnt bullshitting when i said they werent battle tested. if you think im lying, start them vs the dutch n you will see... in a 38 european calendar season, these players have playedless that 70percent for their clubs and dont deserve to go to a wcup in my opinion. nkum..15games (drop him n bring in adusei) boye...10games(drop him n bring in adusei) jordan...less than 20 n still couldnt help his club escape relegation wakaso...less than 10games accam...less than 10 games thisseason. hasnt even played a full season in the swedish top flight to prove his abilities. these players are clearly not battle tested... 7. mental conditioning/confidence building and lifting weights is crucial in this tournamnt. the gfa should bring in jnr agogo to help the boys lift metal. bring in a proven psychologist to constantly instill confidence in these players. 8.RIDE THE SPEED BIKE 30MINUTES BEFORE PRACTICE, 30MINUTES AFTER PRACTICE. THIS WILL PREPARE THEIR LEGS FOR THE GRUELLING DEMANDS OF THE WCUP SUPERSTITIOUS AA! He seems timid, embodies fear. He has inferiority complex and believes in things he doesn't even understand....recipe for destruction. U want to play akaminko as rigHt back? Have u seen him play as a right back for his club all season? Kasa is a better leftwinger than dede. Use dede in the middle instead. [email protected]

So where have Sulley gone to? I thought he was part of the squad at Ghana. Players need to get their heads from behind and join the team asap or AA drop them.

I sometimes don't understand why people says we should drop wakaso!! Are people for real and do forumites even watch the bs?! Before wakaso had a call up to the bs, Ghana infact was among the top ten AFRICA TEAMS that waste SETPIECES like is not even practice during training!! Our SETPIECE ratio is among the worst in the continent before WAKASO STOOD UP TO THE PLATE! Ghana had a whole total transformation to it play and reached a whole different level or zenith with WAKASO CALL UP! Prior to south Africa afcon, ghanas most dangerous WEAPON was not its open play but WAKASO SETPIECES and if people remember,Ghana beat Egypt in that friendly match with wakaso setpieces! In the south Africa afcon, wakaso setpieces and dead ball deliveries were spot on and Ghana looked extremely dangerous on dead ball situation than ever! Infact any SETPIECE we had looks as good as a GOAL and this is what wakaso brings up to the game!! Yes, he looks exactly like a CARBON COPY OF MUNTARI but unlikely muntari who is received more cards becasus of his crunching tackles, long moments of mental relapses and disinterest, wakaso is more explosive albeit less composed with a nasty left foot shot and with his added freekicks, GHANA has added a new whole level of complexity that brings a new DIMENSION TO ITS GAME!

GSN i thought Muntari played and scored a freekick. IMO i will like Accam, Acuah and Wakasso to be dropped... Fatau cant even kick the ball out of his own 18 yards box SMH...

Sulley had family matters to deal with. We all get problems . But saying we should drop Sulley and Essien and kwarasey will be a big mistake. Sometimes I wonder why we jump into hasty conclusions about our star players. I'm in the us navy and I'm given VIP treatment in hotels, airports, on flights you can name it. The level at which us value their heros and stars is second to none . It's rather unfortunate that in Ghana when u going up the country tries to pull you down . If I can recall anytime we have an international tournament , these star players give more than their best. Do u think ghana could have demolished Egypt and qualify for the World Cup without the quality of players we used . Wrong!!! Let's appreciate our stars . Let's love them . Anytime u make derogatory remarks about them ask yourself what will u do if u were essien , Muntari , gyan , Boateng and others and what will you expect from the General Ghanaian public

So will it be fair to drop any of those who duely reported and trained with the team while others stayed out? This kind of indiscipline will take the team no where.
