Asante Kotoko youth team coach Karim Zito is impressed with Kwesi Appiah's decision to shift Kwadwo Asamoah to a left-back role as the Juventus man excelled in the 4-0 thrashing of South Korea.

The Black Stars head coach assigned the versatile Juventus midfielder to a defensive role as left-back and overly impressed on the night.

And, Zito has praised the player for his performance and Kwesi Appiah's decision to play him in the role.

"Kwadwo Asamoah was one of the outstanding players on the night and playing as full-back was specially good. Kwesi Appiah knew just what he is doing and he is vindicated for his selection," he told Accra-based Happy FM.

Asamoah is familiar with the role as Juventus coach Antonio Conte has been deploying him as a lateral defender in his 3-5-2 formation - a system used by the Ghana coach in the game against the Koreans.
