Ghana FA boss Kwesi Nyantakyi is rallying support for the five African representatives at this year’s FIFA World Cup in Brazil.

Ghana, Algeria, Cameroon, Nigeria and Cote D’voire will represent the continent after securing their tickets to the global showpiece in the South American country.

As the spectre of the World Cup looms large and as the pressure mounts  on these countries, all eyes will be on the teams to showcase the continent once again to the rest of the world.

They however faces daunting task of winning the ultimate against some of the finest football crazy nations in the world.

But Ghana FA boss, Kwesi Nyantakyi, who doubles as head of the sub-regional association, is calling for total support for all the five participating teams.

“We have to support the African contingents. We should all throw our weight behind our brothers Nigeria, Cote’ D’voire, Algeria, Cameroon and of course Ghana to excel,” he said

“In the last two editions, only Ghana went beyond expectations but I think this time around we should expect something different.

“Among the five countries, three are coming from our block (that is West Africa) and you know I’m the chair at the moment.

“And so it is incumbent upon us to support our brothers so that we can all achieve our targets.

“I believe this year, a different story will be told by African teams. I am extremely convinced that Africa will do well in Brazil.”
