Black Stars midfielder Rahim Ayew believes Parma youngster Afriyie Acquah deserves a call-up to play at the 2014 FIFA World Cup.

The Asante Kotoko player argues that Acquah has been impressive in the Serie A where he is enjoying regular playing time.

Acquah has made 23 league appearances and scored one goal this season since joining on-loan from German side TSG Hoffenheim.

“For me, I think playing regularly in a strong league like the Italian league is enough prove that one is ripe for the World Cup,” Rahim, son of Ghana legend Abedi Pele, told GHANASoccernet.com

“Acquah has played well this season and I know coach (Kwesi Appiah) is monitoring him and to be fair to ourselves he is a candidate to go to Brazil.”

Rahim was an unused substitute at the 2010 World Cup finals in South Africa.
