Midfielder Kevin-Prince Boateng has denied insulting head coach Kwesi Appiah but says he accepts his expulsion from Ghana’s World Cup camp.

The Schalke 04 man claims the trainer misunderstood him after laughing with Sulley Muntari, who has also been sacked for violent behavior.

“I accept the absolutely - only that no one should believe that I had insulted the coach or something let me come to debt,” Boateng told Sport Bild.

“I am leaving camp and I wish my colleagues all the best for the World Cup and the match against Portugal. "

A statement on the Ghana FA website read: “The Ghana Football Association (GFA) has approved coach Kwesi Appiah’s decision to suspend Kevin-Prince Boateng indefinitely from the Black Stars.

“The decision takes immediate effect.

“The decision was taken following Boateng’s vulgar verbal insults targeted at coach Kwesi Appiah during the team’s training session in Maceio this week.

“Boateng has since showed no remorse for his actions which has resulted in the decision.

“Boateng’s accreditation for the 2014 World Cup has been withdrawn with immediate effect.”
