Ghana midfielder Andre Ayew believes the high expectation on Germany and Portugal to progress from the tough World Cup group will spur the Black Stars on in order to spring a surprise once more again at the finals in June.
The Black Stars will be looking to build on their impressive quarter final finish achieved at the last World Cup four years ago in South Africa this term in Brazil.
Ghana however have it all to do having been drawn against Germany, Portugal and the USA in Group G.
The Black Stars will kick off their campaign against the USA on June 16 before facing Germany and Portugal in the subsequent group games.
And Ghanaââ¬â¢s forward Andre Ayew is banking on the sideââ¬â¢s ââ¬Ëunderdogââ¬â¢ tag to do the magic in Brazil. ââ¬ÅEverybody knows itââ¬â¢s going to be very tough at the World Cup. Our group is tough and we are not among the favourites,â⬠the Olympique Marseille man said.
ââ¬ÅYou have Portugal who are in front of us, there is also Germany who are ahead of us.
ââ¬ÅAll the statisticians are saying that Germany and Portugal are going to fight to win the group ahead of us and the USA so the pressure is on them.
ââ¬ÅThatââ¬â¢s what they say but we will see on the pitch. We are not under pressure so they will not have it easy when they play against us.
ââ¬ÅWe are going there to fight, we are going to play very well, we are going to give our best, we are going to qualify. We donââ¬â¢t care what people are saying.ââ¬
