Ghana goalkeeper Adam Kwarasey is upset he will be missing key games for Stromsgodset during the 2014 World Cup due to rules governing the Norwegian top flight.
The Tippeligaen remains in session throughout the World Cup period in Brazil mainly because of the non-involvement of Norway.
All other leagues in Europe are either on a break or have ended but for some Scandinavian countries.
Kwarasey was forced to leave Ghana’s early preparations towards the World Cup to return to help Stromsgodset secure a vital 1-1 draw against giants Rosenborg.
The 26-year-old is however set to miss more games having returned to the Black Stars camp in the Netherlands and with a bright prospect of emerging as the first choice for the West African giants during June’s tournament.
The Ghana international is unhappy he will be unable to help his club during the World Cup period and has called for a change in the regulations governing the league.
“What other leagues are not taking a break during the World Cup?†Kwarasey said.
“No! It sucks to miss the top matches for Strømsgodset.
“But the little I have done should do something to make the NFF decide.
“I hope that the next World Cup will be more Premier League players to play, so it is possible to get with them to break the league.â€
