USA coach Jurgen Klinsmann is hoping to use their friendly match against Nigeria to equip his side adequately for their 2014 World Cup opener against Ghana.

The Yanks will be facing the Super Eagles in their final warm up match on Saturday before they head out to Brazil for the World Cup.

USA have won all two build up games against Azerbaijan and Turkey and will be hoping to extend this good form against Nigeria who play an almost similar style of football to that of Ghana – USA’s Group G opponents.

Coach Klinsmann admits his side remain a work in progress but is putting a lot of premium on Saturday’s friendly against the West Africans to offer him the final piece of the pawn ahead of their June 16 clash against the Black Stars.

"We're still in the building phase," he said.

"We still have [some] days to go. So we're not done now with all the work we're going to put in their legs and minds. . . . We've got to work, work, work.

“We time it, hopefully, the right way to get them all sharp, all right, all fresh for Ghana, but still we're a work in process right now."
