United States fans will outnumber their Ghanaian counterpart during their opening 2014 World Cup game on June 12.

This is because world governing body, FIFA has allocated more tickets to the American fans, making the second behind host Brazil.

Across all general public sales phases, 1,591,435 tickets have been allocated to supporters: 65% to Brazilians and 35% to international fans.

Brazil remains the country with the most tickets assigned (1,041,418 so far), followed by the USA (154,412 tickets), Australia (40,681), England (38,043) and Colombia (33,126).

This means Jurgen Klinsman’s men will have greater support in Natal for the crucial group G opener against the Black Stars.

It will be a meeting of two foes after clashing in their previous two World Cups in Germany and South Africa respectively.

The two teams will subsequently play Germany and Portugal in a group dubbed ‘ group of death’ by football pundits.
