Ghana coach Avram Grant has arrived in Germany to watch Augsburg defender Baba Abdul Rahman in their match against Bayern Munich on Saturday.

The Black Stars left-back has been tasked with the tough duty of marking Arjen Robben when Augsburg host might Bayern Munich in the Bundesliga clash.

Grant has been touring Europe monitoring Ghana players ahead of naming his provisional squad for the 2015 Africa Cup of Nations in Equatorial Guinea next month.

He will watch Rahman with the key aim of deciding how well to deploy him when Africa's flagship competition begins on 17 January.

The 20-year-old has been one of the star performers this season despite making just 34 appearances in the German top flight.

Augsburg have been on an impressive five-game winning run which will be put to a stern test at the SGL Arena by the visiting champions.

Bayern will be arriving with their in-form Dutch star Arjen Robben but Baba Rahman says is preparing himself enough to win the battle on the wings in the Bundesliga clash.

“He’s [Robben] certainly a quality player, who’s been in unbelievable form for two or three years,” the Ghana defender admitted.

“It’s hard to shut him off completely, but I know his game and will be well prepared.”

Augsburg have been the surprise package in the Bundesliga this season.

They are currently third with three games to the winter break.
