Stand-in Ghana captain Andre Ayew has expressed disappointment at the Black Stars' conceding from a set-piece in Saturday's 2015 AFCON qualifying defeat against Uganda.

The Black Stars were downed 1-0 by the Cranes at the Mandela National Stadium in Kampale but still remain top of Group E.

Victoria University SC defender Savio Kabugo netted the solitary goal of the game in the 9th minute from a corner kick and the Black Stars failed to crawl back into the game.

And, Andre Ayew who captained the Ghana side in the absence of Gyan feels disappointed after the game.

"If you look at it, this is about the second or third time we have conceded from a set-piece which is not very good for us. The Ugandans rarely created any good in the game," he told reports after the game.

We are very disappointed but we knew it was going to be a difficult game. The Ugandans were going to have to the full support. They showed a lot of determination and a lot of character."

Ghana still remain top of the section and could seal their place in January’s tournament if they manage to edge Togo in Tamale on Wednesday.

The Hawks also slipped to a 4-1 defeat against Guinea and must performance above themselves to overtake Ghana if they want to qualify.
