PLAYER RATINGS: 2015 AFCON qualifier Uganda 1-0 Ghana - Cranes prolong Black Stars ticket to Equatorial Guinea
Ghana lost to Uganda

Ghana's Black Stars were handed their first defeat in the 2015 AFCON qualifiers after they slipped to a 1-0 loss against Uganda's Cranes at the Mandela National Stadium in Kampala.

Local boy Savio Kabugo who plays for Victoria University SC claimed the solitary goal against the Black Stars who could not secure their qualification to the tournament.

The 19-year-old scored from a corner kick after Razak Brimah was blocked.

Razak Brimah - 5/10

Ghana still need to have a solution to goalkeeper after Razak replaced Adams in goal. His performance was not solid enough and committed a host of blunders. Could not have done something about Kabugo's 9th minute solitary goal.

Harrison Afful - 6.5/10

Had a good game though he was defeated by the speed and power of the Ugandan forward liners. Usually the intelligent Harrison Afful play.

Baba Rahman - 6.5/10

Another testament of a fine display by the Augsburg man. At some point, he was the only man shouldering the Ghana challenge. Somehow Ghana's best player.

Jonathan Mensah - 5/10

Dan Serenkuma, Uganda's number 4 shirted attacker. Cast in the mould of Ivory Coast's Wilfried Bony, created a host of defensive problems for Mensah and Boye. Extremely powerful and unrelenting. Mensah and his central defensive partner failed to find solution for the attacking prowess of Gor Mahia man.

John Boye - 5/10

Boye was equally troubled by the powerful Ugandan attackers. Showed strong presence in the air but failed to make crucial clearly tackles. The Kayseri Erciyesspor man was crucial at the end for Ghana as he prevented the Black Stars for going down 2-0. Crucial and timely tackle. Poor telepathy with Jonathan Mensah.

Rabiu Mohammed - 6.9/10

The Kuban Krasnodar central midfielder put in a lot of effort in midfield in the first-half but his pace and energy was flagged getting to the end and gradually lost out of contention in the middle, opening Ghana to lot of attacking forays from the hosts.

Christian Atsu - 4/10

Emmanuel Agyemang-Badu - 5.5/10

Took the armband from Andre Ayew when he was replaced. Run well in the middle and showed commendable energy but failed to link his game to the attack.

Abdul Majeed Waris - 4.5/10

What a dim in form! The Trabzonspor man was nowhere near the known Waris. Missed a glorious and scorable chance deep into the second-half. He had the chance to score pull even for Ghana. Lacked the creativity and vision upfront. About time Ghana found a suitable replacement for Asamoah Gyan.

Afriyie Acquah - 4.5/10

Translated his poor form at Parma into the game. Couldn't impose himself on the game.

Andre Ayew - 5/10

Andre could not show his usual class and performance. The Ugandan defense subjected him to a lot of pressure and rough tackles in the opening minutes of the game. And, he went missing for the second-half until he was replaced by Wakaso Mubarak.

SUBSTITUTES

Solomon Asante - 6.5/10

Wakaso Mubarak - 5/10
