Madagascar head coach Franck Rajaonarisamba was left surprised following his side's 2-1 win over Ghana in the Cosafa Cup on Monday.

Michel Randriamanjaka and Olivier Simouri found the back of the net for the islanders, who will now face fellow surprise package Namibia for a place in the final.

Rajaonarisamba dedicated the victory over the Black Stars to the people of Madagascar.

"We are very happy to get this result. We didn't wait for this, this is a surprise and we got it. Ninety minutes, we won 2-1," Rajaonarisamba said via an interpreter.

"It is not all about the coaches and players - it is about the nation Madagascar.

"I think the fans would be very happy, we as coaches and players are also very happy."

Madagascar have enjoyed an incredible footballing year and became the first ever team from Cosafa to claim the CAF Beach Soccer Championship.

The Malagasy beat Senegal in the final and will subsequently partake in the FIFA Beach Soccer World Cup in Portugal in two months' time.
