Holders Hearts will meet sworn rivals Kotoko in the 2015 President Cup on July 1, in a massive U-turn by organizers, GHALCA.

Hearts were initially billed to take on Ashantigold in the commemorative match at the Accra sports stadium.

But the Ghana League Clubs Association has swapped the miners with Kotoko in a latest turn around.

The two teams will pocket GH C50,000 each as appearance fee.

"Hearts are the reigning champions and will now play Kotoko on Wednesday," GHALCA member Kofi Poku said

"Both Hearts and Kotoko have now agreed to play after the Sports ministry agreed to pay them their financial demands.

"We don't have much time and will therefore urge the media to hype the game for us."

The club’s umbrella body are racing against time to attract supporters to the stadium which takes place on Wednesday.

The two giants have struggled for form this term with inconsistent displays which have angered their teeming fans.

This will be the first time Kotoko and Hearts will be meeting on a Wednesday since the infamous May 9 disaster in 2001.
