Ghana coach Avram Grant has fired a warning to his players not to underrate their Rwanda opponents in Saturday's 2017 AFCON qualifier at the Amahoro stadium in Kigali.
The Black Stars take on the Amavubi in the Group H of the qualifiers with the fight over who will lead the table after the second round of the qualifiers.
The two sides are level on three points but the visitors top the table thanks to their better goal difference than the Amavubis.
The Black Stars walloped Mauritius 7-1 in Accra in their opening group game in June while Rwanda defeated Mozambique 1-0 in Maputo.
Despite being the overwhelming favourites for the game because of the presence of world-class players in the Black Stars squad, Grant says Rwanda is his team’s biggest threat in the group.
“Rwanda is a very good side and very tricky. They have very good players so we have to be careful,†the Israeli-born trainer said.
"They went and got three points in Mozambique so we have to give our best on Saturday."
Ghana warmed up for the match against Rwanda with a 3-2 win over Congo in an international friendly on Tuesday in Brazzaville.
Rwanda on the hand thrashed Ethiopia 3-1 in Kigali on Friday as they prepared to face the Black Stars at the same venue.
“I think it will be a tough match but we have to play good football so that we get a good result. What we have to do is to stay focused and concentrate on Saturday’s match,†the former Chelsea coach added.
Meanwhile, club commitments forced Ghana players to arrive separately with John Boye and Jonathan Mensah arriving in Kigali on Wednesday from their bases in Europe.
The rest of the players are expected to arrive in Kigali on Thursday night.
