2017 AFCON: Rwanda prepare for Ghana clash with emphatic friendly win over Ethiopia

Rwanda demonstrated their massive strength in preparing for next week 2017 Africa Cup of Nations clash against the Black Stars of Ghana by thrashing visiting Ethiopia 3-1 in a friendly on Friday.

The Walia Ibex of Ethiopia lost 3-1 to the Amavubi of Rwanda in a the friendly match played at the Amahoro Stadium here today, showing the Black Stars that they won't be pushovers.

The Amavubi opened the score through Ernest Sugira 18 minutes into the game and Baye Gezahegn levelled the score just four minutes before the two teams went into their dressing room at half-time.

The Walias conceded two second-half goals in a span of eight minutes thanks to Jacques Tuyisenge and Jean-Baptiste Mugiraneza.

The two nations are using the friendly encounter as warm up for their upcoming AFCON 2017 qualification matches.

Rwanda will host Ghana on September 5th at Amahoro Stadium while Ethiopia travels to Seychelles on the same day.
