2017 SUMMIT: Ghana FA to introduce Match Coordination Centers

Published on: 02 December 2017

The Ghana Football Association will be introducing a Match Coordination Center (MCC) responsible for the monitoring and coordination of matches at all league centers in the 2018 Ghana Premier League.

The MCC, as part of its duty, will ensure whether pitch panels are well placed and positioned for the cameras, how teams conduct themselves during games, whether approved jerseys are used, pre-match and post-match interviews as well as the kickoff time.

The practice which has already improved the game in major European leagues is expected to increase the level of professionalism in the local game.

“From next year, we’ll be introducing what we call Match Coordination Centers (MCC) as done in Europe during UEFA games,” Nyantakyi told the media.

It is a center that will coordinate games played on the day to ensure that all programs for matches are enforced,” he explained.

“We will improve communication at the match venues to ensure there is a link between each venue and the MCC,” he added.

The MCC will be equipped such that whatever happens at a match venue will be known by the center to enhance openness and fairness in the game.
