Former Ghana international Mohammed Polo is optimistic that the Black Starlets would not have any problem dispatching Niger in the round of 16 clash at the ongoing FIFA U-17 World Cup on Wednesday.

According to the former Hearts of Oak ace, he is delighted that the two-time world champions are playing against a familiar opponents at that stage of the competition.

“I am happy we are still in the competition and fortunately for us we are playing an African side we have played before so this shouldn’t be a problem for us at all,” Polo told footballmadeinghana.com

“Despite the fact that we have not been impressive in the tournament, we must beat Niger. The coach must talk to them and uplift their game.”

“I don’t think Ghana deserve to win the tournament, if they win then it is luck but for performance wise they don’t deserve it.  Even the Gabon team were far better than this team.”

The crucial clash will come off at the DY Patil Stadium, Navi Mumbai at 11:30GMT.
